New eletronic services of the Lithuanian spatial information portal

Asseco Lithuania signed a contract with GIS-Centras for development of new electronic services of the Lithuanian spatial information portal. The total contract value is over 2 million litas.

In February 2013 Asseco Lithuania signed a contract with the National Center of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics "GIS-Centras“ for development of new electronic services of the Lithuanian spatial information (LEI) portal. The total contract value is over 2 million litas. Project is financed by EU regional development fund.

The objectives of the project are: to modernize LEI portal (www.geoportal.lt) and georeferenced public datasets (GRPK) systems and ensure qualified services for the users, develop and implement interoperability tools for the e-services of the LEI portal and create new e-services which would deliver a new geographic information usage opportunities for the users.

There is a plan to create four interactive, public e-services. The most innovative part of the project is the spatial information data management e-service which will allow using the unified LEII resources for solving the geographic information storage and processing problems related with the collaboration of the users while creating and publishing new geographic data. Many different society groups could to be involved to the thematic geographic data usage by the new e-service provision. The e-services simultaneously will be used for the GRPK electronic services for the data control and to provide permissions to build a new communication line or engineering web in the state land.

The main project value is the combination of different technological solutions as LEI portal, INSPIRE portal and GRPK tools in one LEI system.

The project is planned to be completed in the 2Q of 2014.
