Lithuanian literature classics are moving to internet

Asseco Lithuania develops for M.Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania a software of transferring Lithuanian literature classics into electronic space. The total value of the project is over 1 million litas.

Asseco Lithuania performs a project of transferring Lithuanian literature classics into electronic space (e-classics). Contract with M.Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania was signed in July 2012. The total value of the project is over 1 million litas. Project is financed by EU regional development fund.

The goal of the project is to ensure accessibility of Lithuanian literature classics in internet using various communication channels and tools.

The plan is create a library of e-books of Lithuanian literature classics and integrate it into a digital space of European Cultural Heritage and other related cultural heritage systems, digitize over 400 Lithuanian literature classics and make it possible for the users to view digitized images of Lithuanian literature classics or recognized texts in various formats.

The project is planned to be completed in the 1st half of 2014.
