Administration of residency studies at Vilnius University is facilitated by an innovative information system

Asseco developed for the Vilnius University the Information system for the administration of resident doctors (RAIS)

Asseco Lithuania has been cooperating with Vilnius University since 2011. We have created and maintain several systems: Information system of Virtual Historical Lithuania (LDK), Information system of electronic documents of Lithuanian science and studies (eLABa), Document management system "Avilys" (Hive), Resident administration information system (RAIS).

Information system for the administration of resident doctors (RAIS) is a modern and easy-to-use, adaptive system for the selection and admission of applicants for residency, organization and management of the resident study process, accumulation and evaluation of residents' professional clinical practices, provision and formalization of graduate professional competences, evaluation of study quality, preparation and management of statistical and analytical information about the residency process and acquired competences, preparation and issuance of residency completion certificates. RAIS was integrated with other systems of Vilnius University: study information system, human resources management system, financial management and accounting system, document management system "Avilys", online applicant service system for admission to postgraduate studies. We also integrated the RAIS system with the platform of healthcare specialist competences and the electronic government gateway, as well performed data migration from the previous information system intended for residents to the RAIS system.

The purpose of the RAIS system is to maximally digitize the Vilnius University residency admission, study and graduation processes, automate study management processes, centrally manage related information, conduct surveys and provide users with relevant information. The circle of users of the system is quite wide - they are applicants for residency, residents, program coordinators and administrators, host coordinators, doctors of training centers, various commissions necessary to ensure the study process, users from other institutions.

Currently, Asseco Lithuania, together with a subcontractor - the Dutch company CY2 IT Services BV, which has extensive experience in implementing study management solutions in European universities – is executing the project of implementing and adapting the Vilnius University Study Information System (VUSIS) to the needs of the university.
