Asseco opened its doors to the schoolgirls interested in information technologies
Responding to the initiative "Girls' Tech Day 2024" in November 14th Asseco Lithuania opened its doors to the schoolgirls from upper classes who are interested in information technologies and want to learn more about them.
"Girls' Technology Day" was organized for the first time in 2022 as the initiative of Adform Lithuania. Asseco Lithuania participates in this project for the second time.
This initiative aims to change stereotypical attitudes of society and promote gender diversity in IT professions. IT companies are invited to open their doors and show the students how interesting and diverse the work in IT companies can be.
We are glad to be able to invite the girls to the inspiring story of Olga Rakovskaja-Urliuk, head of insurance solutions domain at Asseco Lithuania, about various activities in the IT company and her own IT career. "More than 18 years ago, I started working as a programmer, and now I am the manager of one project domain. Since my studies, I have been observing a trend that I don't really understand, when the number of women in the IT sector is small. However, I prove by my example that women have the same opportunities as men. Therefore, it is nice to observe that the number of women working in IT positions in our company has been increasing in recent years," says Olga.
